police chase through Houston ended with the arrests of three men early Monday morning. High-speed chase
started just before 2 a.m. on I-10 when police tried to pull over a black pickup truck. Officers said the truck sped off, and so they gave chase. Police said the truck fled at speeds in excess of 100 mph, leading officers all throughout the city’s east side. During the chase, police said two bags were thrown out of the truck.
The bags, which police said probably contained drugs, exploded into powder clouds when they hit the highway. The chase came to a halt on Cherry Street in northeast Houston after patrol units trapped the truck on a small neighborhood street. The driver of the truck and his two passengers were all arrested. The suspects have not been identified, but police said they may be members of the Houstones street gang.
