74 Hoover Crips - a violent street gang wreaking havoc on South End streets. The group was weakened by a big federal bust in 2005, but has recently made a resurgence in the Rainier Valley with several high-profile shootings and other bold criminal activity.Later that same night, Seattle Police Department (SPD) says officers recovered a gun and drugs from suspected gang members at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street – a well-known 74 Hoover stronghold.
Shortly thereafter, at about 11:45 pm, police found about 50 rowdy teens lingering in the street in the 9700 block of Rainier Avenue South, where police say they appeared to be leaving a large house party. Many in the group were recognized by police as members of the 74 Hoover Criminals.Earlier that morning at about 10 am, a man on Seward Park Avenue South reported seeing a boy among a group of teens firing approximately seven shots from a handgun.
