Ten youths, who are alleged to be members of or have ties to the Bloods street gang, were charged with various drug distribution and weapons charges. These arrests came about as a result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Teaneck Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert Wilson); the Bergen County Sheriff's Department, under the direction of Sheriff Leo P. McGuire; and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Gang Unit. The arrests are the result of a months-long undercover operation, which was conducted as part of the Governor's "Safe Streets, Safe Neighborhood" initiative. At the end of 2008, the Bergen County Gang Unit began to gather intelligence on a criminal street gang known as the "Rollin 20's Bloods" operating in and around Teaneck, New Jersey. The Rollin 20's Bloods is a subset of the larger "super-gang" known as the Bloods.According to the gathered intelligence, this "set" was engaged in the illegal sale of drugs. During the course of several months, undercover detectives reportedly purchased marijuana, crack/cocaine, and a handgun from the different suspects arrested. Most of the undercover operations occurred in Teaneck, Englewood, and Bogota on various dates.
